Bio
Athena Mutilation was born on November 16, 1991, in Dallas Texas, to two Italian parents. Gabriel and Lynette Mutilation. When she was younger and got mad or upset it would either be hot or cold. Her parents knew something was wrong with their child, but they tried hiding it from others. She attended a public school, where she made decent grades. She wasn't the best at making friends, partially because she was quiet and partially because what happened with her emotions. She did have a few, though. Her father hated her, but her mother still tried loving her. Even though she was a freak. She distanced herself from others.

Athena kept her being a mutant from her friends, but her parents knew. Her father made it clear that he didn't approve of it, and tried several times to expose her to religion. He thought God would "fix" his daughter. This just drove Athena away from Christianity and her father even more. Her parents got an divorce and her mother took her with her when she moved to Long Island, New York.

When Athena turned 14, she was invited to go to Xavier's School and her mother made her go. She has been there for three yrs.

Personality
Athena has a short fuse. She tends to jump to conclusions a lot and doesn't wait for an answer a lot of the time. Athena closed herself up when she was younger. Athena likes to keep to herself a lot and she loves to paint and listen to music.

When people come up to talk to her, Athena is defensive at first. She thinks that they are there just to make fun of her. Soon, though she lowers the barriers if they seem worth the struggle of friendship and she can be a very good friend if people get to know her. She always listens to people's problems and is always willing to help.

To people who don't know her, Athena may seem kind of weird. She is kind of a loner who likes to write and paint, and she is almost always listening to music and has her headphones on. She will talk to others around her when prompted to, but a lot of the time her answers are short and sweet. She doesn't blab about things that don't matter and she always stays on topic. If she has nothing else to say she makes up an excuse to leave and does so.

Powers and Stuff
Thermokinesis:
Athena has the ability to control the temperature around her. She has just begun to figure out how to control her powers, In the past things went wrong with her powers because of how they are tied into her mental state. If she is sad the temperature falls to freezing levels and can be very dangerous. If she is mad the temperature around her rises and it becomes very hot. She has been working on this and is showing improvement.

Athena has been able to figure out her powers to a pretty good extent. She can control most of what she does if she is in a good mood. However, if she is emotionally unstable, for example if she is very angry, or upset, she looses whatever control she had and kind of goes haywire. When she has good concentration, she can heat certain objects to the point of ignition. The only problem is when she doesn't have proper control she makes everything around her hot as well, and this can be dangerous to other people. Athena, herself, does not feel temperature as strongly as other people. For example she can be outside in below zero temperatures in a t-shirt, and only feel a little chilly.

Athena, being able to control temperature, she can make certain things heat up and cool down. She can cook things and freeze them if she has the proper control. She hopes to figure out how to control her emotions, to the point where she can have complete control over her powers. She wants to be able to have control all the time. Being a teenage girl emotional control is hard for her, but she is willing to work on it. She is always open to learning about her powers.

Athena's weaknesses are her emotions. If she looses it, it can hurt the people around her. Even if she is just sad it can be troublesome to the others around her. She has learned this the hard way over the years. She seems numb almost to the people around her because of her lack of emotion. She tries to keep them under control but it is difficult. After all to show emotion is human.

Another weakness is that her powers do not work as well when she is near a large body of water. She doesn't know why she just found out one day when she was getting acquainted with her powers. She went to the lake where it was quiet and she tried to use her powers but they didn't work as well as when she was at home. She figures that water somehow makes her nervous, or diffuses her powers, because they do not work as well.

Athena is able to make the temperature rise with little to no effort, and that's the problem. Her emotions are tied into her powers and she hopes that she will be able to disconnect her emotions and her powers. If that's not possible she hopes that she can learn to keep her powers at bay when she is angry or upset.
